Hi All.

To be clear - Google Apps as in google.com/a

So I bought myself a new Asus Transformer the other week.
Friend came to visit. I invited him to have a play.
He went straight to the browser, typed in http://mail.domain.com and hey presto - An unworkable experience. He gave it back to me and said it was useless...

So:
Google's Gmail/apps on Google's browser on Google's operating system is unworkable.

Am I missing something?

Any tips or thoughts appreciated..

What exactly was the "unworkable experience"? That is not much to go on.

I tried it on a run of the mill Android tablet (Wintec Filemate Lite/Android 2.2), and got a security warning about mismatch of site and certificate - same thing I got on a regular PC Mozilla browser (Linux/Firefox 3.6). In both cases I had the option to accept the "anomaly" and continue, but it was appropriate to flag this issue. Did he see something different?

SOME of the problems:

Loading is painfully slow even on a decent connection [after login]

Opening a mail item is slow [as above]

pressing reply button in an open e-mail does... - well... - nothing.
[can't reply]

If [random] I can get to the drop down menu next to reply button to forward..

It takes a month of Sundays before I can write a message and/or fill in the recipient - if these elements load at all..

Trying to select one of my many labels on the left side menu - gives me - [I love this one] - one of the other labels...
[month of Sundays of waiting]

Can't sign out [drop down in top right hand corner under e-mail address]

After not-too-many attempts at using myself I gave up in frustration.

Not worth the pain / frustration..

Question remains for me: Why can't I use Google Apps [easily] on a Google Browser on a Google operating system..

Quite unbelievable..

OR

Is it just me on the Asus?

For what it's worth: Honeycomb 3.1 on Asus Transformer
