Users will soon have some new Google Play Edition devices to choose from. Both Sony and LG announced Google Play Edition versions of devices. Sony announced the Z Ultra Google Play Edition and LG announced the LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition. Both of these devices will supposedly come from the factory with Android 4.4 KitKat onboard, and both are already available on the Google Play Store in the United States. The G Pad 8.3 GPE costs $349 and the Z Ultra GPE is $649. There's no word yet on when/if these models will come to other markets.

An interesting sidenote is that the LG V510 tablet which has been rumored for sometime was not a Nexus tablet as some had speculated. It turned out to simply be this Google Play Edition LG G Pad 8.3. Here are some links below to check out these offers.

I have been waiting for a reason to buy another tablet (because, seriously guys, why?), and this might be the device that pushes me over the edge. Newegg had the G Pad for $250 on cyber Monday, and I almost pulled the trigger, but LG is notoriously slow with software updates, and Google seems obsessed with them lately, so I am actually glad that I waited. $100 more buys me fast updates and the best Android (plus, I bet if you wait until after the holidays, Google will throw in a Chromecast or something).

Apparently they already are available.
