There is no GPS hardware in any of the Gen 1 or 2 Coby products. Some software may simulate coarse GPS operation based on the location of network connections. Android 2.2.x or 2.3.x as used by Coby contain artifacts (3G phone as an example) of hardware that isn't present.

In a GPS capable tablet (my Acer Iconia A500, for example) network location can be used to speed making GPS connections where the software can anticipate which satellites to look for based on coarse location. If a tablet is not GPS capable, similar software can be used to determine coarse location.
