Hello,my name is David.I'm 51,dyslexic and this is my first computer.A Lenovo IdeaTab S6000-F 10:1 touch screen android tablet.I hope I bought wisely, what do you think? I live in Surrey,England and I am amazed and baffled, pleased and confused by this astonishing device in equal measure.
Looking for (and have found?) a place in which I might find knowledgeable (and patient) individuals whom might assist me in my quest for understanding...

Welcome to the forum David. I can understand all your adjectives being it's your first computer. Daunting I'm sure, but you'll do just fine.

My tablet idle is over 80% of battery consumption! Is that normal?

Hello David, welcome to the forum and congratulations on your new Lenovo IdeaTab. Nice of you to become a member of Android Tablets. To get started, I'd suggest you click this link to the Android Tablet Q&A section. Read the "Sticky:" threads at the beginning for some good general information about tablets and Android. Assuming the tablet was otherwise idle when you looked at the battery consumption, the total battery consumption would have been minimal. 80% of minimal would therefore be nothing to be concerned about. The most effective ways of extending your battery life are usually turning down the screen brightness as much as reasonably possible and turning off the "radios" when they're not in use. (WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS) Enjoy the forum and your new tablet.

Questions with a meaningful title should be posted:

1.) In the Sub-Forum provided for the Make and Model of tablet or the subject (Apps, Games, Videos, OS etc.).

2.) If there is no Sub-Forum, then in the Forum for the Make of tablet.

3.) If there isn't a Sub-Forum or a Forum, the Android Tablet Q&A section would appropriate. Q&A would also be the place for questions not specific to a particular tablet or if you didn't know which tablet you have. (More common than you'd suppose.)

In your case, there is no Sub-Forum for the S6000, but there is a Forum for Lenovo tablets. So, any questions particular to your tablet should be posted in the Lenovo Tablets Forum.

I'm not sure what that means.
