Haipad M1001 Recovery Mode Buttons not working

i all hope this is the right place to post this. Basicaly I have a haipad m1001 and i can boot into recovery mode fine by holding down the volume - button powering on then letting go of the power button blah blah blah. But my problem is once im in recovery mode the volume keys wont navigate down the menu and i cant do nothing when in recovery mode. anyone know how i can resolve this?
