yes, this is android 2.2 but no,
i did not find any evidence of working flash 10.1 support.
visiting 'www.youtube.com' crashes the build in browser.

Youtube can be viewed in the youtube app after you install the cyanogen google apps
but i cant manage to log into the market or to register my account.
Googlemaps crashes too.

I have been trying many diff cable & USB ports... after that gave up.
Lucky, It is still until warranty, will take it back to resaler for repair.

For the meantime, I dig in depther, see below highlight.

seems my hardware pad do not like NAND Data update.

do as the manual that is included in each full firmware download suggests.
after the pad is recognized by FWDN klick on the 'NAND' section on the right,
seöect the NANDdata.fai file and klick 'create'.
the file will be overwritten with a NANDdata.fai that fits your pad.

TO : loonix

So I believe you updated your firmware, not working with 2.2 on your apad 7. May I know your NAND size after upgraded.

Image's Disk=2842624sectors / Target's Disk=6561792sectors

So I can compare with my apad 7.

I called up the support of resaler, they will re-download my apad7 with lastest 2.1 firmware, if I send back.

many thanks

@keijames Android 2.2 works quite well on my Haipad 7".
I cant tell you the size of the NAND in sectors since i do not get a errormessage when it works and dont know how to make android report the size in sectors.
The working 'NAND data.fai' file is 737.920 Bytes big
FWDN reports the NAND data file to be 1423360KB big. (mtd = 524288KB) so i gues that is 2GB internal memory.
ADB SHELL reports with the 'DF' command '/mnt/nand: 1422144K total, 64K used, 1422080K available (block size 16384)'

One not working 'NAND data.fai' i had was from the 30.11. Haipad firmware and was 1458816 Bytes big.
after making my own nand data fai it worked fine.

my APAD7 has internal SD 4GB, kind of difference than your hipad 2GB. I will ask default NANA from resaler for my APAD7, when try again.

By the way, I got back my APAD7 restored back 2.1. I ask asked copy of working firmware 2.1 as well.

It seems that, I own a bigger size model of telechips APAD (purchased in HK) than hipad 7.

Silly question -- you're not using the Haipad M701 firmware to flash Froyo onto your Apad -- right? I would think Apad should release that...even if you got a successful flash (unless these things are 110% identical) I would expect things to not work, kinda like ROM ports from different devices (IE CM6 for our tablets ripped out of a phone build but can't play video). If I'm off base, please someone let me know...I just don't see anything on Haipad's website claiming their firmware works with Apads or non-M701 devices...

my APAD7 is 2.1 as purchased.
256mb DDR2 Ram
4GB internal SD
external SD (upto 32GB)
Telechips CPU (slower CPU only can run 2.1)

For normal Froyo sprec, it should come with 512mb RAM with faster freescale CPU chips, which I own it as APAP8.

I just jesterday talked a g10 owner with 4GB internal flash through flashing a normal m701 firmware.
Using FWDN it detected the spare flash space and allocated 2854896KB to the internal user NAND (that is ~2.7GB) the rest was used by the OS.
For comparison my 2GB model gives me 1.3GB internal memory.

I am still not convinced that your pad is different and you just did not create your own 'NAND data.fai' as described in the flash manual.

I have flashed this official froyo to my m701..it's fast, but my 3g dongle ( zte 2766 cdma ) not recognize at all ( it work's with official eclair 18-11 )..even my usb stick also... I think the usb host ( usb OTG) not working or is it something in permission to setup ?

sorry for my english...

2.2 firmware is not very good as far as I can tell. You are best off switching back to the latest 2.1 firmware if you need those features.

Hi,

I just bought 2 of these for my kids from ebay (2.2 pre-installed) and, after reading this thread was seriously concerned that I'd bought lemons...

NOT THE CASE ;-) They work almost perfectly straight out of the box (the only issue I've been able to provoke with a few hours of fiddling is no text or images in the 'Angry Birds' game :D)

Market is perfect. YouTube just works. Other apps seem fine so far...

I think the manufacturer must have a better rom than you guys ;-)

Here's the specs ;)
firmware - 2.2 update 1
kernal - 2.6.29
cbsdada@CBServer #183
