Has the sleep power drainage issue been fixed in CM 7?

it is really not that much of an issue - you can last 1.5 to 2 days on standby, ~5-6 hrs continuous use so if you plug in at the end of the day there is no problem
now the team worknig on this have fixed it but it will require a different kernel and there are still a few bugs being worked out in that new kernel

Anima Technica: Thanks. But I'm not worried about inconvenience. For me it's a big issue because these type batteries have only a limited number of charge/discharge cycles, and if you ask me, this is unecessary strain on the battery. Are all incarnations of mod Gingerbread based on CM7?
