have a SVP tablet can't connect to the internet

I received an SVP tablet as a gift. I can't get connected to the internet I get so far "authenticating" flashes on the screen and that's it. ( I have no problems with my laptop.) Called my internet tech help desk but they didn't know how to fix it. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what was the solution? I would appreciate any suggestions.

That usually indicates it doesn't acknowledge the password correctly. I have a link below with enough WiFi connection problems tips that one should work for you.
