i got my daughter this disgo tablet, all ok then all of a sudden she could not connect to the internet and we have lost the icon at the of the screen that shows the signal.

so if anyone could tell me how to get this working again that would be fab

With a screen name like that, how can I NOT help!

This is an issue with these tablets. You need to go to Settings, Wireless & networks and click wifi off and then back on. When these tablets wake up from a sleep mode, they lose contact with the router and for some reason cannot regain connection. Sometimes you may even have to shut the tablet off and turn it back on to get the wifi to connect. It is a glitch in the programming and I am not sure it has ever been 'fixed' 100%.
