Help with text editing on Android 4.0.3

I have an Acer A100 tablet, and want to know if there is a key in the virtual keyboard that is equivalent to the "delete key" on a regular keyboard. I know that the backspace key will delete text to the left of the cursor, but I want to be able to quickly and easily move the cursor to the far left and delete the characters to the right of the cursor. I find moving the cursor to the exact place I want is very touchy and difficult. Can this be done?

There is a keyboard called Hackers Keyboard that has arrows that allow you to move up down and sideways. Using the 'Fn" key brings up a ton of other keys including a delete key.
