Home Screen Problem

Hi, I've got a Superpad II (2.2, MicroSD Slots X2, 9v input etc) and its worked fine for ages. Now however it's developed a weird probem. It boots up OK, full initial display but as soon as you activate the "Power On" slider you are greeted by a black screen (although the top taskbar and associated icons appear as normal). Very occasionally the complete homescreen appears, only to vanish again, accompanied by a box reading "Infotmic Home not responding" with options of wait or cancel. This is really annoying and a reset via the appropriate button has no effect. Can anyone advise me as to how I might resurrect my homescreen?
