I'm trying to find a way of selecting several words of text so I can do things such as making the selected text bold or deleting the selected text. I have used an iPad in the past and have had the option to select text when I touch the text with my finger, but this is not the same for an android tablet.

    How is this done?

Long press the text for a few seconds, then you can drag the indicators to the beginning and end of the selection.

It varies app by app, but here is an example in Kingsoft office:

Step one, long press on a word. Tap the Select Option and that word is selected:

Next, you can drag the flags at the end and beginning to adjust the selection:

Then tap the CUT, COPY or PASTE.
