How to stop upgrading

Is there a way to prevent a tablet from upgrading apps and rebooting when I'm using it online? It does it a lot and it is annoying!

Go to the Play app, tap the little bars upper right -settings and uncheck the auto update. BUT it should not be restarting just because of app updates so maybe I'm missing something?

Agree, I have mine set for manual update and I've never had the tablet restart after I update.
