from reading others' posts it seems that in order to have any control over my android tablet i have to start by doing this . first ,you need to know that i am an absolute newby at this. all i really want is tobe able to control what, anhow things are added to the exrenal sd, or sdhc card . ths seems to be a big problem with ICS. isanyone working on this ?

ICS is rootable BUT it depends on the tablet. Plenty of people are working on rooting pretty much all the mainstream tablets as soon as they get ICS. It's rootable on some if not all of the ASUS Transformer tablets. But like I said, it needs to be a fairly mainstream version of ICS for it to happen as most manufacturers have some control over it and some will not honor the warranty if rooted.
