Sounds like you've learned how to remove the back cover. I suspect there's still residual moisture inside, between circuit board and screen. Suggest removing the back, placing the tablet, screen down, about .3m above a heating vent overnight. Let some warm, dry air swirl around the tablet for several hours, to help evaporate moisture still in the tablet. Perhaps use an electric hair dryer, on low heat, to aim warm air into the tablet from the sides.

In any event, after some time passes, please report back whether the screen cleared up slightly, or entirely. This sort of thing could happen to any of us.
