I recently purchased locally in Australia a cheap Android Tablet which came with ICS. However wherever I look they talk about branded phones or tablets. I have no idea with a tablet to find out which chinese manufacturer made the GUTS. Is there and genereic compilation I can use? INPUTS: it has USB host which is OTG, HDMI, miniSD and usb power in as well as DC in 5V it has audio level controls. Past this I am on my own as no manual come with the tablet, only a downloadable text pages, very basic.
It has the obligatory WiFi of course, and I will use it more as a book reader. I spend some time in hospital so watching docos and movies is another use.

Would appreciate any assistance offered. Have been in computers proper since late 80's and linux in the early 90's with Caldera so can compile a kernel but am not familiar with tablets apps etc.
