ICS 4.0.3 Hardware/Kernel/Root Noob question about "support"

I picked up my first Tablet and haven't been able to put it down for a couple weeks now.

My nature is to squeeze every last bit of performance out of anything binary. So, I have a question about some terminology.

My Tablet (model # in my description) so far has been fully rooted, the kernel has been gone through with a fine tooth comb,

and I've just about done everything I can do with it aside of cracking open the case (which might be next).

Through looking at the settings, I came across the system where it lists CPU, memory and finally what my low end unit supports.

I understand it is a little cheapy unit, but what has me confused are the listings of supported peripherals. Bluetooth is not supported,

but it lists GPS as being supported.

Does this mean that it has onboard GPS chip that needs the Kernel build (drivers) installed/compiled, or is it more of a ICS compatibility thing?

Granted, I am new to Android, but not new to the Linux root. I wasn't able to find anything listing GPS, yet ICS says it supports it.

Your help is appreciated.
