is the Note 8 worth $349 right now? will there be a note 8 2014e?

Hi, i am planning on getting an 8in tablet and i like the active digitizer that the note 8 has and i am just wondering if it's worth $349 (it's on sale) right now or will there be a note 8 2014 edition like the note 10.1. Thanks guys!
