Is this normal?

i have my kindle fire 2nd gen rooted,twrp recovery,and running the latest rom,10.1 jb. Every now and then it stays in a powered off state and the power button and the charger have no effect.i have to manually unplug the battery from the device and plug back in for it to power on.is there a fix for this cause its quite annoying.

Off the top of my head I would say it is not normal but having modified the system as you have there isn't a good way to tell if the ROM may or may not be at fault. In other words, it could be hardware related but not easy to determine.

It is likely related to some of the modifications in the rom you are using.

If you shut the kindle off completely and then turn it back on, does that make it work?
