Kyros 7022 goes to sleep

I have a Coby Kyros 7022 and sometimes it does something strange. After turning it on, if I don't unlock immediately it goes to sleep mode by itself. Other times it goes to sleep mode as it should but when it comes back it does the same thing, if the screen is not unlocked in a second, it goes back to sleep. Is this normal?????

MY 1024 does that, unless I am plugged in and charging, then it waits about the same time as the normal sleep. Mine is set to 10 minutes.
