locks up when it sleeps

Every time my Vizio goes to sleep when it is not on the main menu screen it is unresponsive when I wake it up. I must hold the power button and do a reboot. If it is on the home screen with all the apps and falls asleep it works fine. Is this normal or am I doing something wrong? I am new to android.

I have only had mine a few days but have noticed a similar issue. I hadn't noticed it does it if it sleeps from a screen other than home, just that it went to sleep a couple of times and the only way I could get it to do anything was to reboot. I would say this is probably some sort of sleep of death issue with the Vizio ROM.

Ours started doing that, randomly, about two updates ago. It's exceedingly annoying. I haven't noticed whether being on the home screen or not matters.

There was a post back in November about the display timeout/ sleeping that describes setting both the display and wifi to not sleep and that prevents the behavior.
