Lots of questions...New to all but my desktop PC!

I have a new Asus Eee Pad TF 101. 1st question..is it possible to connect my pad to the desktop PC and download? Lots more questions but would like this one first. I don't
have WiFi in my home...and only use the Pad when we go on trips. Thanks

It may be possible to "tether" to the PC but the easier solution is probably to download with the PC and then transfer files to the tablet or to go someplace with a wifi connection (library, starbucks, mc donalds).
