Making my own app

Hi Guys, i'm curious about learning how to make apps for android tablets and i've been looking all over the place but the only things i can find are very expensive packages that i need to buy. I dont have enough money to buy those packages, if i had them maybe i could have bought a sony android tablet instead. Nevermind.

Now i was wondering if there was a page or something i could go to with video tutorials or if there was someone here who could help me learn the basics? I've already got the Android SDK, the problem with me is i hate reading loads of words and learning from that, i much prefer learning by doing.

Is there anyone who might be able to help me?

You might be interested in MIT App Inventor. It is a simple coding program that uses blocks instead of actual code. I have used it to make several apps in the past and actually just completed two more. If you are interested check out the link in my signature to hit me up and talk about it.
