Messaging app between android and ios

Hi guys,

i have bought a xoom recently and i was wondering if you know of some kind of app that allows messaging between honeycomb and ios because i have a friend that has a ipad 2 and i wish i could exchange messages and maybe even audio calls with him over wifi...
I hope you can help me on this one...

Definitely use Textfree. I use it on both my iPod Touch and My SuperPAD. It gives you your own real phone number and you can send picture and text messages. If you buy minutes, you can call people. Hope that helps.
