Modify/Delete SD Card Message

I was on the point of downloading "chess for android" from the playstore when it said "modify or delete the contents of your SD card". What is this about? Is it a prob? Thanks for any advice

That doesn't sound normal at all. You did stop there, I hope. Try restarting your tab and try again.

I've never seen or heard of that before. If the card is properly formatted, the only time you should receive a message is if the card is out of space. As leeshor suggested, try turning your tablet completely off for a minute or so and restarting it.

Sounds like that is in "Permissions" the ability to save games would need this. Actually, almost all my games do.

Jonling gets the cookie for this one. Just looking at the pictures for Chess for Android one can see that there is an option to install a move engine from the MicroSD card, and that is one reason the permission is required. The save games are the other reason.

First, many thanks for all the replies (and sorry bout the delay!) and clarifications. btw I did stop before installing, I was worried. Having read the replies I tried an experiment and hit a series of apps from playstore but without installing any. Each one asked for apps permissions, but some asked for more, and some asked for fewer. And some asked for the modify/delete permission. As far as I can see u either say yes to all that or u don't get the app. Anyway, my love affair with my 8" BQ Curie 2 tablet remains uncompromised
