Modify LCD (Pixel) Density

1. Is this like changing the resolution on a computer monitor?
2. Will it allow larger size wallpaper?
3. Will my battery take a hit from running a modified pixel size?

Matt,
The app you mentioned is not that great. Doing the changes in the build.prop is MUCH easier, and more permanent.
Also, 140 is a really good point to start unless your on HoneyComb. Then 120 is a good place to start.
