Music app alternative

Does anyone know of any apps or methods to get externally based music to play in a nice interface like the preinstalled music app? Currently, I have to either save my media (which is on an sd card) to the device or play one by one through my file explorer.

There are several. For external music, look at Amazon's MP3 player and Cloud based service or the Google Music Beta. Both work great and look great on the tablet. You can also check out WinAmp or MortPlayer for plain music players.

If you have a media server that supports DLNA then download 2Player from the market, then you can play media over your home network.

Ya PowerAMP can see all music. You can even name a default directory.
