MX video player question

I have just recently discovered this fantastic app and use it with no problems on my Cyanogenmodded Nook Color. I also have an Acer Iconia A500 however on this the navigation functions don't work. I have been through the menu system to make sure everything relevant is enabled however it is impossible to forward or rewind to any point in a video. An update for the app came through today but nothing has changed. The onscreen lock button and picture resize buttons do work, as does the pause buttons but the forward and rewind buttons do not, neither does a swiping action on the screen. There is no video time information either. Any help is much appreciated.
