my android problem

I have a android os 2.2 it worked when i first got it.. but my internet had been shut off so i didnt use it much after.... now when i turn it on it pops up with the green robot and wont go no further i got my internet back on and was excited to be using it again can anyone tell what should i do..... it did have a reset pin hole but when i push it the tablet shuts off then when i turn it back on it does the same thing. can some one please help me.
