my e-pad will not unlock

My e-pad is frozen and the unlock action button on the bottom of the screen will not respond when I try to swipe it over to unlock with my finger. I tried cntl/alt/delete and it reboots but still frozen. I tried the reset hole on the side pushing a paper clip into it and it reboots but still frozen. No keys on the keyboard of funcion buttons respond. Totally frozen. Also, I thought to take the battery out but it seems the case is not meant to be opened without breaking it. HELP!!

Can anyone help? I see there were 217 views. BTW - it's Android version 2.1

Have you fully charged it? Most times it seems that this phenomenon is because it doesn't have enough battery power.

Yes - fully charged.

Battery charge level meters appear to be atrociously inaccurate.

Yep - I actually usually use it plugged in.
