My tablet not working

Hi, Im so glad I found this forum, I have a Tablet wich starts, the doid comes up and nothing else happens, I let it to a friend, and I dont know how to make it boot up... It doesnt have any information about model o manufacturer, it is a generic one, it just says Android 2.2; Kernel 2.6.32, build number V1.2.3 ... I'm kind of lost... dont know where to start...

Have we searched for something like "reinstall ROM?" or operating system? There are a number of threads that talk about your situation.
