Hello from Sunny Southern California. Just picked up the cheapie kmart tablet and starting on my Android adventure. I am an experienced software developer and have worked with mobile and other tablets. I tried an Archos 5, but for the price didn't seem like what I wanted (and because it runs 1.6).

I am looking at learning Android development, as well as learning the platform. I am thrilled I found this forum. Seems to be the best place to gather with others on this amazing platform!

    My plans:
    - get all the "extra" software on it which I need to make it usable.
    - get the dev tools installed on my desktop, and write a hello world app.
    - learn about the API.

    Go Android! Cheers,

    Paul

probbiethe, Awesome! Thanks for the heads-up. That probably should be first on my list.
