need help with my coby mid1040

my coby kyros mid1040 just delivered to me from my hometown but when i opened and try to play music there is no sound coming out from the speaker or even in headphones...my mother said that it is still working fine when they used it, and i suspect that it got damage by putting some heavy objects at top of it while transporting...And when i try to play music and accidentally turn it to sleep mode the sound just came out from the speaker but when i wake it the sound stop and i try to put it to sleep again and the sound came out again and when i wake it up the sound is stop.. they got interchange..
What should i do???
