New Android Tablet owner

I recently purchased a generic Android 2.3 Tablet PC 8 Inch-S5PV210-3D Game-HDMI-Flash 10.2-512MB-4GB; I bought it through a Chinese Reseller, Dino Direct. I own a Droid 2 phone, and I love it, so I thought I would stay with an inexpensive Android tablet to get started. I tried the Motorola Zoom and it seemed very unstable. The tablet generally does ok, once you get used to it. I have a number of questions that I can use some help with from the forum. I am an experienced engineer and High tech guy.
