For what it's worth and maybe that's nothing. 
I called B&N a couple days ago to see if there was a way to get that stupid 6 page sample cookbook out of my library.
The tech I spoke to said I couldn't get rid of it because I couldn't access the file. He went on to say it was an error in 1.2.0 and would be fixed in the next release. When I asked him when is that going to be, he replied "Pretty soon".
That's all I know. He wouldn't elaborate further.
