New to Android...how can I tell if I have Android 2.1 or 2.2 froyo?

    Just bought an Archos 32. How can I tell what operating system I have? It was supposed to come with 2.2 but I hear people saying that it really is 2.1. Also...cannot install Yahoo Mail app; is this because I do not have access to the market place. I am new to all this.
