If you bought a "cheap" 7" Android tablet WM8650 and want to upgrade it and get the REAL android market..please follow the directions and links I posted below...I will offer help via email if you get stuck email me at [email protected]

Follow these directions exactly:

Make sure your tablet is off.
Remove the SD Card.
Download the V9 Final ROM file to your PC from my site. Make sure you know
where to find it after it downloads:

I have uploaded the rom to my own website and it should
download very quick for you. Here is the link to my site
http://creativeconceptcomputers.com//downloads/public/WM8650.zip
...save it to your desktop and get winrar to unpack the zip file at
http://rarlab.com/rar/wrar41b4.exe

Insert the SD Card into the media reader on your desktop PC.
The SD Card will now show up as a drive letter on your PC's File Manager,
just like C:\, except with a different letter assigned.

Every computer will be different. Let's just say that on your PC it is G:\.
Right click the drive letter of the SD Card (G:\). A pop-up menu appears.
Select "format" and format the card to Fat32.
Now, using a program like winzip or winrar, extract the ROM file that you
downloaded to your PC earlier to a new folder on your desktop
.
After it has extracted, it will have these folders:
firmwareinstall
Changer_files
and these 3 files on it:
changer.exe
wmt_scriptcmd
Universal_Uberoid_WM8650_v153.txt

Using your PC mouse, double click the "changer.exe" file. A pop up screen
appears.
Type in RT3070 and hit "enter" (this enables WiFi support)

Select the option number that corresponds to your tablet and press enter.
( I found option 27 to work on most wundermedia wm8650 ) if that dont work
run it again and choose option 2 (if that dont work, keep trying differnt
options until you get the right one) if that one hangs on the option
you selected, you will just have to keep running the changer and selecting a
different option number until you get it right. Make sure that after it does
boot, to select wmtlauncher as the default and that the touchsreen does in
fact work.

(Please, if you are trying multiple options, just remember to try options
only for the size tablet you have.
For instance, if you have a 7 inch tablet, try only options
1,2,7,8,9,11,12,13,16,20,21,23,25,26,27,28,29,30,31, and 32.

After you select your option number and hit enter, the changer.bat will ask
you if you want to install the ROM on your SD Card hit y (yes) and if you
want your SD Card formatted. Answer "NO" since you already formatted it
earlier, let the program finish running completly and it will tell you when
its done.
Now safely remove the SD Card from the PC media reader.

Insert the SD Card back into your tablet and turn it on.

it will show a progress bar on the botton, when it's done it will tell you
to remove the sd card , (don't remove card until it says to) when you do
the tablet will reboot
.
Select the wmtlauncher when it comes to options screen and set as the
default and thats all there is to it.

This should only take a few minutes to boot the first time. Make sure that
after the tablet is up and running , that you reformat the sd card in a
computer again before you put it back in your tablet for storage.

As of today, it still does not support Flash 10.1 for web browsing, the manufacturer told us that the new firmware launching around March will support Flash. We will update on our website and blog once it is confirmed.

Connect to wifi/ethernet to get online then do the following.

0. Sign in with your gmail account info (
1. Open the Market (not the fake "App Market") and let it fully load. Then press the home button (top left).
2. Go to Settings \ Applications \ Manage \ Running
3. Press "Market"
4. Press "Clear cache" (do not clear data)
5. Press "Force stop"
6. Return to "Settings \ Applications \ Manage \ Running"
7. Press "Google Services Framework"
8. Press "Clear Data"
9. Press "Force Stop"
10. Press home button.
11. Restart Google Market. It should give an error message (this is good)
12. Reboot

You should now have a 100% fully working android market.

radbrad answered you already. It's the app called "Market" by itself. You can find this in the "all applications" area by clicking the icon in the bottom right. good luck.

Hi Marcone - Sorry dont know how to help dmarteaga with his one icon - Mayeb he has one in apps - What I did notice was the market I get to isnt exactly the same as on my laptop, desktop and phone. Could it be a mirrow image by someone? Try Angry Birds Rio - normally pops up - This market ia a bit different - maybe try running this http://wentzeldk.amplify.com/2011/03/14/fake-android-market-security-tool/

Think i willk look in to it some more - have contacts who are linux engineers - might see if they are still working prior to the break

A friend of mine has the tablets and he was trying to see what he can do. He just emailed me and said he is lost, so when I get it back tomorrow I will check on that link. I will also check the all applications in the bottom right. Thank you all for your help.

I picked up a CrystalView WonderMedia WM8650 Android 2.2 Froyo Version 1.5.3 Tablet PC for $100 at Big Lots. It says its on Android 2.2 Kernel 2.6.32 Version 1.5.3. I can't get it to download the appslib it says device not compatible. I used Arctools and Archangel to root and add the Android Market and it will download app's to 99% then it doesn't install. I also tried Z4root and Universal Root. It shows super user however its size is 0.0 so nothing is there. I want google app market to work. Also I see 3G Settings & a mention of 3G Dongle. What is that. I found something in uk but I'm in the US didn't help. What is a 3G Dongle? How do I find the info to put in the settings. It seems it has 3G dongle support for some Huawri devices like the 220. Not sure what that means. It says I need Apn: Username: Password: I called my cell provider boostmobile and they said blackberry doesn't use an asn to connect to the network and wasn't helpful. Can someone help me get google market to work? And help with the 3G Settings? Thanks you.

Just registered to say to Marcone you are a legend :)

My wife bought this tablet for me as an Xmas present and my initial thought was 'what is this?!?'

You've unlocked the final piece of the jigsaw... a great little gadget this is turning into...
