Hello, Friends

I have a tablet newby question - I just bought a VTAB 8 in. for my 8-year-old daughter for Christmas.

I consider myself pretty tech-savvy, but how does it connect to my home Internet?

I have phone line DSL - do I need a router to create a home wifi zone?

Appreciate any help!

Yes it only connects through WiFi, there are some very inexpensive routers these days. You can find wireless "N" (most recent technology) routers starting around $30-$50 and I have seen some on sale in the $25 range.

You will see numbers like 150, 300, 600 etc. but if this is your first WiFi router I assume not much will connect to it and a "150" would probably be fine. The numbers just refer to the data through put (e.g. 150mbps), for some perspective there are still plenty of people that use the older "G" which was less throughput and range and that was the standard for a while.
