Well we can't get a system dump until we have root back. Root is going to have to wait till Huawei uploads the kernel sources so we can rebuild boot.img for the 2.2 users. And this is assuming that fastboot is still usable.

As of 2.2.2, none of the old root methods work.

CWM can be install to unrooted device (i tried it on 2.1).

perhaps gentho willing to install CWM and dump necessary img for us.

i will go to service center tonight to get froyo update.

i will see what can i do for you guys.

ok guys. my s7 got froyo already. but i can not get the file.
(tried to fool him to use my sd card so i can revover it later, but he didn't get fooled) hope he didn't read this.

back to topic.

i've installed CWM recovery, it said installed finish but i don't know if it was installed or not because i can not boot to CWM recovery.

any idea which button combination should i try?

or is it necessary to root it first?

lol

I still think we might need kernel source because they changed the radio on us.

But dump your system and boot so we can take a look. Do not overwrite recovery else until you do a full backup of everything.

This is a great news.
(first thing shut down your tablet)
To boot in recovery mood you should press menu(left side in middle) and phone OK(right side green) and then power. Keep them pressed until the recovery menu it show up. Scrol down to backup menu.
I think if we have boot and system we have all we need to get a working tablet even if is gone be with an old radio system.

damn i am so stupid. i didn't hold it longer enough (it need about 5 second longer then previously), it shows IDEOS 2 times which made me things didn't boot to CWM.

now i am boot CWM, making backup ................

hhhhmmm, now i am i n trouble lol

i made back up, then tried again to boot CWM, i didn't boot.

it just show
Enter into fastboot mode
You can press HOME + BACK to reboot device

i press HOME + BACK but it reboot then back to fasboot mode

any advice?
(i hope i didn't brick my s7 lol)

ok, reinstalled CWM, now my s7 back in service.

but i didn't have valid backup, there are only 3 files:
- boot.img > 5MB
- recovery.img > 5MB
- system.img > 4.12KB

I can wait to see and try your backup.
And other good news is that we have a stable cw7 gingerbread source now(not a beta) for future development.
Hwo knows maybe in a few days we will have more option for our little tablet.

Connect your tablet to computer and use fastboot to reboot.
#fastboot.exe reboot.
Glad to find that your tablet is OK.
Boot img is OK.
System is not OK.
Remember after backup press the back key for the right reboot menu.
Can you upload your boot image and try another backup.
Thank you.
From a working boot we can try to port another room from a similar device.

fasboot.exe reboot didn't help, it just keep looping to fasboot.

but reinstalling CWM it will reboot to CWM and i can get back to system.

so to summarize:
> booting to CWM sometimes ok, sometime keep looping in fastboot
> back up using CWM it says back up boot/recovery/system succes but failed on backing up Data. but the system.img is not valid, only 4.12KB.

aaargh, it is morning already, thats all i can do for today.

For system you can use root explorer to create a sort of backup.
We don't really need data.
I understand that you already have root and if I am not wrong you can get a dump using adb.
For me is midnight for you is morning. For people in us is just afternoon if you can do another effort to upload boot img is great.I wish you a good day. Thank you for your kindness.

Thanks for all your efforts. Take your time with it. We know you are doing a favor for the rest of us who don't have it.

... I said don't overwrite your recovery... The kernel might not even be compatible with the new radio. There could have been other issues as well... Sorry for not being clear enough on this...

You could have backed up your device firmware from a booted Android: http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...te-status-released-indonesia-4.html#post72875

If Huawei decided to change the partition layout, Clockworkmod recovery will not work as expected. That is probably why system is 4KB. Or it might just have to do with the driver that deals with mounting the internal partitions.

Don't bother with the custom recovery until you dump your system and other relevant information so we can all take a look at what we need to do next.

Like goodoane said, we could probably use whatever files you may have, including the 5MB boot.img that nandroid managed to retrieve.

I need the output of

cat /proc/mtd

Sounds like our old kernel actually boots just fine. Not sure if it will pull up the other functions, but there is a chance things might work as dumped, at least partially...

ok guys. here is my progress

adb remount > failed : operation not permitted
adb shell > $ (it seems i don't have adb root)

however, i can put busybox and dump_image to /system/bin using root explorer.
and i can use terminal emulator from my s7 to dump boot and system.

somehow my upload to multiupload always interrupted and failed.

i've uploaded to mediafire.

Do you have superuser installed? If yes you need to accept adb as superuser .

yes i have superuser installed from SOC but i didn't get any notification to accept adb as superuser.

i tried adb shell su, i got notification and accepted as SU. i can get # , but i can not write anything with my keyboard.

do i have to update SU and adb?

i will be AFK for a few hours. if you need anything else just give me instructions.
