Paying for Market apps

I'm not a newbie to computers, but I am to the A500 so I feel real dumb....

I can install free apps from Market no problem, but when I try to buy one it shows my (correct) Google checkout but it's greyed out.... have found no way to pay for and buy an app.

Suggestions?

I have this problem when I try to use my Discover card with apps whose sellers are in certain parts of the world. In these cases, I use a VISA and the transaction goes through.

It is sometimes easier to actually check your google checkout account via your PC. It can be that your locale either has an issue with processing cards, or your card info is the issue.
