Here's a follow-up article that is slightly off-topic (mobile-wise). Previously, we shared a report suggesting that Samsung Display and LG Display would be working toward a peaceful resolution of their differences instead of continuing to duke it out in court. It looks like it was more than a rumor, and is indeed proceeding well. A new report indicates that Samsung just dropped their injunction against LG over infringement claims. Here's a full quote with the press release,

Samsung Display Co. on Tuesday dropped an injunction seeking a ban on rival LG Display Co. using organic light-emitting diode (OLED) technology, raising hopes the two companies are moving to settle their display technology dispute.

The two companies have been involved in a legal tussle over display technology since July when 11 people affiliated with the Samsung unit were indicted on charges of leaking core technology to LG.

In September, Samsung filed an injunction seeking a ban on use of 18 confidential technologies for its OLED displays and 21 other relevant details, which later evolved into an all-out display dispute that also included technologies for liquid-crystal display (LCD).

In a reconciliatory move, however, Samsung Display has submitted a document canceling the injunction, according to the Seoul Central District Court.

Samsung Display declined to provide a statement on the issue.

The latest development follows a recent meeting spearheaded by the Ministry of Knowledge Economy and attended by the chief executives of the two display makers.

Earlier this month, Samsung Display chief Kim Ki-nam and LG Display chief Hang Sang-beom agreed to resolve their patent dispute through dialogue.

While the two rivals are still entangled in three litigations over display technology patents, the injunction invalidation is seen as a move to resolve their wrangling over display technology.

Samsung Display and LG Display, the world's two biggest display makers, together control nearly half of the global display market. In 2012, Samsung and LG's global market shares came to 24.5 percent and 23.4 percent, respectively, according to the data by market researcher NPD DisplaySearch.

It's a shame more companies can't work out their differences this way... *cough*Apple*cough*.
