Pixels being chopped from the display area at edge of screen

Has anyone noticed that apps don't fit within the physical size of the screen? When I hold it in landscape mode, there are some pixels cut off on the left hand side. If I flip it 180°, pixels are cut off on the right hand side. It's like the display area is covered by a black border under the glass.

Acer support has advised that 3.1 will fix the problem, but I'm not so sure, since I can't find any mention of the problem anywhere else, which makes me think it's a manufacturing fault with my A500, and that an operating system update isn't going to fix it.

Now that I'm looking at the browser, are you sure that the page is not zoomed in? That would give the impression as if the content disappears below the edge (at least with the stock browser). Make sure you're zoomed out all the way.
