Problems with my Gentouch 78

I have a Gentouch 78 NBA7800ATP that I got last night as a gift friend. However, On startup, I get past the initial Gentouch screen, then hang on the black bird in the upper left corner. I have yet to get to the desktop once.

I've been doing some reading, and I think it's something to do with a hardware discrepency, which necessitates an update. However, I cannot even access the thing's hard drive because it's not mounted (need the desktop for that, don't I?).

How can I access the 'guts' of this puppy from my computer to update/flash it if neccessary?

do you have or the person you got it from have the receipt? you could contact augen for help. sorry, can't help

TheMumm: What I recommend is to download the most updated firmware from Augen's website. Put that on your SDcard and stick into your Gentouch.

Download this firmware file, along with USB drivers. In this zip file it will include directions on how to flash your tablet.

FYI.. you are correct about the update... this firmware flash, usually fixes that problem.

I am having trouble with my gentouch too. I would turn it on, sometimes at the black crow screen it would turn a redish color, and the other times it would get to the unlock screen and let me do things but then it would freeze up on me... anyone have any ideas on what the heck is going on?
