Now that Rockchip's quad core CPU is out there, are there actual performance improvements?

Are all these tablets able to actually take advantage of the quad cores? For example, will it make multitasking smoother?

Or is it just a marketing thing?

Everything being equal a quad will always beat a dual and yes, there is a difference, and some games in particular, make good use of the additional cores.

Having multi cores for processing have good effect on running games or other apps. Its special for a person like us to have latest technology in devices.
