OK - I go to the Market - Want to download an App - Then the permission list comes up - They want access to everything short of my credit card account, my first born, and my car keys. How does this affect me - Things to worry about or not?? Are there permissions I should stay away from?? Ones that don't matter?
Thanks
Bill

IMO permissions are not such a big deal with the VTAB. call state and all that are moot since they are not applicable. there is, however, an app called Permissions Denied you can install that lets you choose what you want to allow.

Edit: you will need root for this, forgot about that :)

An app should only be requesting permission to access things required for the app to function. An email app for instance would need internet access, address book access etc. If an app appears to be asking for something it shouldn't need to function, don't allow it.
