RAM and gb question

In laymen terms does RAM provide the device to run smoother/faster? Or is this the core processing? Dual vs single core processors. I'm concerned about this because I want the fastest web browsing experience and wondering if this is what I need to be looking at?

I'm not sure which gig I should get a 16 vs a 32? I would mainly use my tab for web surfing, writing documents, e-books, and some apps.

Thanks!

RAM does make for a better viewing experience. Dual core means it can process more faster. As fa as the GB size, that just means more internal memory. This doesn't really matter much to me since I move a lot of my stuff to an external microSD card.
