Windows XP 32-bit. Ran perfectly. No touchscreen issues as David mentioned. I'm running it now. All seems well. Running the script you mentioned for Play. Will post back when I see if it works.

Thanks for testing, glad it works.

ill wait until davids problem is fixed then to make sure all kinks are worked out, ill try upgrade method on that program
when ever coby releases 4.0.4 I assume the same process will be required to presere the root

Can I get some more dumps from 7042 users running stock firmware?
I actually don't need the full dump, just bootloader.img.

I want to check if there are any hardware differences.

HOW I DID MY SYSTEM DUMP ON MY MID9742: ( Instructions originally posted for MID7042)

FIRST DOWNLOAD THE FOUR FILES TO YOUR pc DESKTOP:

MOTO Android Driver / PDAnet Drivers & App / coby_root3.zip / fw_dump2.zip

1) Driver for Motorola Android Phones (aNDROID) http://junefabrics.com/bin2/MotoDriver.zip

2) Download & Install: PDAnet Drivers from HERE: How to Install ADB Driver via PDAnet software | Top Notch Tablets
------------------
3) Download and run Run root.bat file:
http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...mps-coby-generation-3-devices.html#post206352
coby_root3.zip (on page 2 #16)
-------------------
4) Download and run Run dump.bat
http://www.androidtablets.net/forum...mps-coby-generation-3-devices.html#post205970
fw_dump2.zip (158.4 KB (on page 1 #2)

-------------------------------------------------

Installed Moto Android Drivers (I restarted mu PC)
Installed the PDAnet Drivers.

After I installed the PDAnet Driver: Connected the USB cable, went to Settings, Development, USB Debugging checked.

Make sure the new PDAnet APP (in you app drawer) is working. Should see icon in bottom right Task Tray on PC) If no connected right-click and connect

Run the root.bat file (in the coby_root3 folder

Run the dump.bat. (in the fw_dump2 folder) Script ran successfully (2-3 minutes)

Dropped the system.tgz , boot.img, bootloader.img and recovery.img files in the same folder as the dump.bat file.
