How to install
Method 1: Built in 3e Recovery

  1. Download the latest version of the rom
  2. Copy the ROM zipfile to your MicroSD Card or Extract Contents to MicroSD
  3. Power off the Elf II and remove any usb or chargers
  4. Press and hold Power button & the Volume down button at the same time. Hold for approx 6-10 sec then release.
  5. In the Ainol ELF 2 3e recovery you can move with the Volume down button, you can select with Power or Volume up
  6. Select apply update from sdcard
  7. Select light-elf-rom-file.zip
  8. Wait for the update to alert you that install has finished
  9. (Optional) Wipe/Data**
  10. (Optional) Install ROM once again**
  11. Reboot the system
  12. Enjoy the ROM!


** Some say a double flash helps with issues, so I included it in the notes, I claim urban legend to this however if it makes you feel better go ahead.

I help few elf II owner in my local forum using latest light elf ROM (they use old stock ROM provided by the shop they and me bought from it), seems like it's getting more stable if your ainol is English edition (my elf is Chinese edition, so lots of kinks to iron out) and they now quite happy with it.

Thumbs up for tragidy for the stable ROM.

hey tragidy, i want to know in your ROM Light Elf 2.5.6, can i making phone call using the internet with app such as Line, Viber or Skype?
because i have a problem in another ROM, when using app such as Line, Viber or Skype to make phone calls using the internet, suddenly there was no sound at ainol (try playing music is also no sound) but my friend can hear my voice and after restart device the sound back to normal, try again the sound lost again :(
