I think I have found a solution to the problem where WiFi lose connection when wake up from sleep, I installed a free app called WiFi Keep Alive, my 10s now can stay connect to hotspot even after sleep (blank screen) for more than 2 hours

Yes. The device works much better with swap partition.

...a nice sound while starting the device up would be cool...

Try ClockSync app from the market https://market.android.com/details?id=ru.org.amip.ClockSync&hl=en works for me.
