ROOT method

Hello,

I just picked up a VTAB with .56 and was wondering if someone could point me to the most up to date method of rooting this device.

In searching this forum and XDA I see a lot of discussion on the best way to root this tablet and was hoping someone could point me to the latest/most stable method.

I am on Vista 64bit if that makes a difference.

One additional question: does anyone know of a way to get ADB working on a windows vista 64bit machine?

I have tried the android sdk (with java sdk) and pdanet methods listed in the forums with no luck.

Any help would be appreciated!

use superoneclick it will download the proper drivers.
i rooted mine this way.

i am not for certain but have you tried to run it in compatibility mode or as administrator ? I seem to recall this was what some did to get it to work - hope that helps

Also use pda net on your pc and vtab to connect to your device easy.

Thanks for all the suggestions! Finally got ADB to work and rooted using the link to XDA provided.

Didn't use the PDANET method.

What does pdanet give the tablet feature wise if installed?

Well, doesn't apply to Vizio, but if your tablet is 3G/4G capable and has the Internet access you can connect it your PC and enjoy 3G/4G inet on your PC/Laptop.
